Happy Cinco de Mayo!!!!

Okay, so we don't really celebrate Cinco de Mayo, I just need a blog title.  We've been sooo busy around the Hoversten Household.  Here's a few highlights of each member of the Hoversten Haven Household:

Jakson Paul- He turned 18 months old yesterday.  Where does the time go?  He also, I believe, has had his first ear infection since getting tubes at the end of March.  A little fluid was coming out of his ears this past Sunday so I called the ENT and it was soooo nice because they just called an ear drop prescription in instead of us having to make a trip in.  Jakson's vocabulary is also skyrocketing and so is the word "No" (by both him and us) as well as timeouts.  Jakson thinks hitting mommy's face is cute and funny, in turn, he gets to sit in his highchair (strapped in of course) in timeout for 2 minutes.  I will ask him as a warning, "Jakson, do you want a timeout?"  and without hesitation, he responds, "NO!" But is naughty anyway and it usually ends up in a timeout.  Let's see...what else is our little naughty one up to.  He calls my baby belly my "butt".  So funny, and it took me a couple weeks to realize he was actually saying "belly button".  Duh mommy.  I guess my immaturity got the best of me.  :)  Jakson's most famous words these days are:  tractor, bye-bye, mo-mo (motorcycle), bath, izzy, Daddy, Jess, Colleen, BIG truck, nack (snack), ball, outside, hot, McQueen (Lightning McQueen), Mayner (Mater)....and many more.  Out of ALL THE WORDS he knows, he still calls me Dada.  Guess what our first task is this summer?

Brett:  Brett just fufilled one of his life dreams.  We drove to Stillwater, Oklahoma to meet his two-wheeled baby named Harley Davidson this past weekend.  I don't think I've EVER seen him smile so much, except for when Jakson was born.  We trailered it back after spending some quality time with the Texas Hoverstens for a couple days.  Brett's very happy and has been spending a lot of time in our garage (which I don't mind at times) and on the internet dreaming of all the Harley accessories he can buy for his new baby.  I like to remind him that we are having a REAL baby in four months and we need to be saving money for that, but right now this seems to be all his mind can handle.  I love him, he's so excited about it and it gives him something else to look forward to when he gets home at night.

Me:  One week ago today we found out that we will be having a baby girl!!!!  Brett and I were dead set on not finding out the sex of the baby, but I couldn't take the pressure.  I just had to find out and we decided a few days before my appt. we wanted to know the gender.  I've had a feeling this whole past 21 weeks that there was a little girl in there.  This pregnancy has been completely different.  I had spotting early on, was nauseous for a week, my boobs feel different, and I've gained half the weight I did with Jakson at this point.  I just knew.  I'm already overwhelmed with PINK thoughts and am going to have so much fun dressing this little lady up.  Even though I'm so thankful for a baby boy first, I've been jealous while shopping with my girlfriends watching them buy all these adorable little clothes and accessories for their little girlies.  Now it's my turn.

21 weeks

Looks just like her big brother  ;)

Us:  We decided to put our townhouse on the market.  We are in no hurry, but would be so excited if it would sell this summer before the baby arrives so we can get settled in a renter home to save some moola for our BIG house.  By big I don't mean mansion, but just bigger than what we have now.  I would give anything for our own yard for Jakson and the new babe to play in and for Izzy to poop in =), for more storage, for a play room, and for a bigger master bathroom.  That's a lot to wish for, but it's definitely reasonable.  Time will tell what will happen, but for the time being, I'm making a lovely honey-do list while he's out in the garage playing and dreaming with Harley.
